Education Technical Adviser

About the role

The Education Technical Adviser will lead the design, implementation and monitoring of high‑quality education programmes for tens of thousands of children across Lebanon. Reporting to the Director of Programme Development and Quality, the role provides technical leadership, strategic planning and partnership development for Save the Children’s education portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and roll out the education strategy, covering emergency response, nexus programming and cross‑cutting issues.
• Provide technical input to country annual plans, area plans, emergency preparedness plans and sector strategies.
• Oversee programme quality, ensuring reliable data, outcomes and integration with other sectors.
• Supervise the creation of a technical capacity‑building plan for education staff and local partners.
• Maintain a central database of tools, manuals and guidance to support programme development.
• Manage and collaborate directly with one Education Specialist and field teams in three locations.
• Identify fundraising needs and lead the development of technical proposals.
• Forge strong partnerships with government, UN agencies, NGOs and civil‑society stakeholders.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in education programme design, implementation and monitoring, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Proven ability to provide technical leadership and strategic planning at a country level.
• Experience managing staff and coordinating with multiple field locations.
• Strong knowledge of child safeguarding policies (Level 3 contact with children).
• Excellent communication and partnership‑building skills with government, UN, NGOs and civil society.
