Community Mobilizers (Protection) – 5 Positions

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is recruiting 5 community mobilizers to carry out protection-related project activities in the Rashaya, Baalbeck and Hermel districts of Lebanon. They build trust with the community, act as the main protection focal point in their area and refer protection risks (child protection, GBV and gender-based violence) to DRC staff for follow-up. The position starts on 1 December 2026 and runs until 28 February 2027; community mobilizers are volunteers and are not DRC staff.

Key responsibilities

• Attend capacity-building training requested by DRC
• Share protection trends and refer identified cases
• Fill surveys and assessments regularly
• Support focus group discussions and deliver CB-PSS activities to affected children and their caregivers
• Build and maintain good relationships with community members and stakeholders
• Ensure regular reporting of protection activities
• Hold awareness sessions and share updated service mapping and referral pathways at community level

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; a bachelor's degree in a related field such as social sciences, statistics or data science is preferred
• At least 1 year of experience; previous experience with a humanitarian organization is preferred
• Good knowledge of the area and its context
• Adherence to the DRC code of conduct and prevention of sexual exploitation and abuse

Required skills

• Good communication and facilitation and sensitization skills
• Understanding of protection and child protection principles
• Ability to work under pressure and good team spirit
• Willingness to understand psychological first aid and support when needed

What we offer

• A lump sum of up to 200 USD to cover communication and transport when supporting the DRC team in the field
