Community Mobilizer - Protection, Bekaa

About the role

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is recruiting Community Mobilizers to carry out protection-related project activities in the Central Bekaa area of Lebanon. The mobilizers build trust with the community, act as the main protection focal point in their area and refer protection risks such as child protection, gender-based violence and general protection concerns to DRC staff for follow-up. This is a volunteer position, not a staff post.

Key responsibilities

• Build trust with community members and maintain good relationships with stakeholders
• Share protection trends and refer identified cases
• Fill surveys and assessments regularly
• Support focus group discussions and deliver Child Protection and Psychosocial Support (CB-PSS) activities to affected children and their caregivers
• Conduct awareness sessions and disseminate key messages, service mapping and referral pathways
• Ensure regular reporting of protection activities

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; bachelor's degree in a related field (e.g. social sciences, statistics, data science) preferred
• At least 1 year of experience; previous experience with a humanitarian organization preferred
• Good knowledge of the area and its context
• Good communication and facilitation skills, ability to work under pressure and good team spirit
• Understanding of protection and child protection principles
• Willingness to understand psychological first aid and support when needed

What we offer

• Fixed-term volunteer contract of 3 months, until February 2027, starting 1 December 2026
• A lump sum of up to 200 USD to cover communication and transport costs in the field
