About the role
Tearfund is seeking a Finance and Operations Officer to support its programmes in Lebanon and Syria. The role will be based in Beirut and will report to the Finance and Operations Coordinator for the region.
Key responsibilities
- Provide finance, operational, administrative and coordination support to programme teams.
- Ensure compliance with Tearfund’s financial policies, procedures and donor requirements.
- Manage cash books, petty cash transactions and related reporting.
- Represent Tearfund externally and liaise with government authorities and other stakeholders in Lebanon and Syria.
- Conduct financial analysis and produce regular financial reports.
- Maintain accurate records in databases and support security‑related duties when required.
Required profile
- Diploma in Business Administration and/or Financial Management.
- 3‑4 years of experience in finance, administration or operations within a business or NGO.
- Experience working in insecure environments and engaging with government authorities.
- Strong organisational, scheduling and independent‑working abilities.
- Fluency in spoken and written Arabic and English.
- Ability to handle confidential information sensitively.
- Alignment with Tearfund’s Christian values and legal right to work in Lebanon.
