Unit Head - Private Label

About the role

The Unit Head – Private Label will lead the commercial team responsible for private‑label products across GMRL’s retail portfolio. This senior position drives strategy, sales, margin, and brand development while ensuring operational excellence.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement commercial strategies, SOPs and process improvements in coordination with Organization Development.
• Conduct market research, monitor product performance, and adjust pricing to stay competitive.
• Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, oversee margin optimization and inventory replenishment.
• Lead product and brand management, including new product development, assortment planning and promotional execution.
• Manage stock levels, prevent overstock and wastage, and support retail space merchandising.
• Oversee export operations, compliance, and identify international market opportunities.
• Collaborate cross‑functionally with Marketing, Food Safety, Quality Assurance and other departments.
• Recruit, train, coach and evaluate the private‑label team, ensuring clear communication and performance management.

Required profile

• Minimum 8 years of experience in private‑label, FMCG or related commercial functions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or a related field.
• Proven ability to lead teams, manage supplier relationships and drive profitability.
