Tax Specialist – Lebanon

About the role

The Tax Specialist for HOLDAL Lebanon is a senior position responsible for ensuring full compliance with Lebanese tax laws and National Social Security Fund (NSSF) regulations across all local entities. The role acts as the subject‑matter expert on tax and social security matters, safeguarding the company’s financial integrity and reputation.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare, review and submit all corporate tax, salary tax, built‑property tax and annual tax returns within statutory deadlines.
• Maintain a tax compliance calendar and ensure all filing, settlement and reporting obligations are met without penalties.
• Manage VAT declarations, input/output VAT, VAT on imports, and follow up on refunds and credits.
• Compute, book and settle withholding taxes and other applicable taxes, considering double‑taxation treaties.
• Ensure full NSSF compliance, prepare periodic and annual NSSF contributions, and reconcile them with payroll and the general ledger.
• Lead tax and NSSF audits and inspections, acting as the primary point of contact.
• Monitor legislative changes, advise business units, and manage tax accounting, provisions and risk.

Required profile

• Senior‑level experience in tax compliance and social security within Lebanon.
• In‑depth knowledge of Lebanese tax legislation, VAT law and NSSF regulations.
• Proven ability to lead tax audits and interact with tax authorities.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.
