Senior Legal Counsel

About the role

We are seeking a hands‑on Senior Legal Counsel to join Chedid Capital, a leading investment group operating in insurance and reinsurance across Europe, the Middle East, Africa and South Asia. The role combines deep legal expertise with practical business judgment in a fast‑growing, international environment.

Key responsibilities

• Advise on insurance and reinsurance broking activities, including drafting, reviewing and negotiating all related agreements.
• Support day‑to‑day legal concerns of the operations team and handle regulatory considerations.
• Assist with incorporation, licensing, restructuring and ongoing regulatory matters for regulated and non‑regulated entities across multiple territories.
• Provide employment and HR‑related legal advice across jurisdictions, including contract drafting and labor law compliance.
• Contribute to M&A and strategic transactions through due diligence, drafting, negotiating and post‑closing integration.
• Draft, review and negotiate commercial, service, vendor agreements, NDAs and other operational contracts.
• Coordinate incorporation and licensing of regulated companies with local advisors and authorities.
• Support corporate governance tasks such as drafting resolutions, board and shareholder minutes, and maintaining statutory records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Law (required); Master’s degree in Law or MBA (preferred).
• 9+ years of relevant experience in private practice and in‑house roles across multiple jurisdictions, especially in the Middle East, Africa, Europe or emerging markets.
• Fluency in spoken and written Arabic, English and French.
• Strong expertise in corporate and commercial law, contract drafting, regulatory matters and corporate governance.
