Protection PSS Facilitator – Emergency Response

About the role

The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is seeking a Protection Psychosocial Support (PSS) Facilitator to join its emergency response team in Beirut. You will work directly with displaced persons and affected communities, delivering protection assessments and psychosocial activities that promote safety, dignity, and resilience.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct household assessments, rapid needs analyses (RNA) and surveys in person or remotely, ensuring high‑quality data collection.
• Produce daily activity reports and submit completed tasks on schedule.
• Facilitate PSS sessions for children, youth, caregivers and adults inside and outside collective shelters.
• Deliver awareness sessions and apply Psychological First Aid (PFA) approaches.
• Support the distribution of in‑kind services and identify emerging protection risks.
• Share protection trends with IRC staff and assist with outreach activities.
• Participate in capacity‑building trainings and coaching sessions.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills with clients of all ages, including children and elders.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage time efficiently.
• Objective, sensitive information‑gathering and respect for beneficiaries’ cultures.
• Interpersonal, organizational and basic technological proficiency (tablet use).
• Fluency in Arabic and English (reading, writing, speaking).

Required skills

• Tablet operation for data collection.
