Cluster MHPSS Senior Specialist (Youth Mental Health + EASE)

About the role

The MHPSS Senior Specialist ensures coordinated, high‑quality implementation of War Child’s evidence‑based methods (EBMs) for youth mental health across a cluster of partner countries. The role translates strategy into context‑relevant support, oversees quality assurance, and drives adaptive learning at cluster level.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain cluster‑level oversight of thematic quality assurance for EBM integration, implementation and scaling by partners.
• Coordinate thematic support provided by Specialists, prioritize activities and advise on resource allocation.
• Lead adaptive learning cycles, develop learning agendas and ensure lessons inform practice and strategy.
• Strengthen partner capacity through training, mentoring and scalable learning approaches.
• Represent War Child’s EBM Care System portfolio externally, building credibility and influencing sector policy.

Required profile

• Relevant academic background in mental health, public health, social sciences or a closely related field.
• Significant experience in MHPSS, humanitarian or post‑conflict contexts, including programme design, needs assessment and quality assurance.
• Proven experience working with partners on co‑creation and delivery of programmes.
• Fluency in English; additional languages such as Arabic, Dari, French, Spanish or Ukrainian are a plus.

Required skills

• Strong understanding of quality standards, evidence‑based programming and MEAL integration.
• Familiarity with digital collaboration and learning tools (Mural, Miro, SharePoint, MS Teams).
• Knowledge of cross‑sectoral integration (Education, Child Protection, MHPSS) and localisation principles.
