Ophthalmic Technician PRN

About the role

Vanderbilt Health is seeking an Ophthalmic Technician (PRN) to perform ophthalmic work‑ups for new and returning patients at the Lebanon location. The role involves both basic and intermediate eye examinations and specialized testing, supporting faculty, residents, and technical staff in a collaborative clinical environment.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct basic and intermediate ophthalmic examinations and specialized testing with minimal supervision.
• Assist faculty, residents, and technical staff with daily clinical needs as directed.
• Interact professionally with patients using AIDET communication techniques.
• Maintain a clean, well‑stocked work environment and ensure equipment follows Emergency Operations Center (EOC) guidelines.

Required profile

• Limited experience or training in patient evaluation and ophthalmic examinations (novice level).
• Ability to identify health risks and patient needs under direction.
• Willingness to work under supervision while completing assigned tasks.
