Legal Counsel

About the role

We are looking for a proactive Legal Counsel to oversee the day‑to‑day legal, commercial, compliance and regulatory matters for our Beirut office. Reporting to the Head of Legal and working closely with an external local legal advisor, the role supports the Group’s corporate governance and legal functions across its electro‑mechanical portfolio.

Key responsibilities

• Draft, review, negotiate and manage local commercial contracts, vendor agreements, sales, service and maintenance agreements for generators, elevators, HVAC systems and solar PV projects.
• Assist in reviewing and managing bank credit facilities, corporate guarantees and other transactional finance documents.
• Review and administer complex international distributorship and supply agreements with global manufacturing partners.
• Support the Group Company Secretary with board packs, minutes, and statutory registers.
• Monitor legislative changes, handle regulatory licensing and ensure compliance with Lebanese labour, tax and municipal laws.
• Provide day‑to‑day legal advice to operational teams under the guidance of the external advisor and Head of Legal.
• Coordinate dispute resolution and litigation management with external counsel, including recovery actions and civil or criminal matters.

Required profile

• Bachelor of Laws (Licence en Droit) from an accredited Lebanese or recognized international university.
• Admission to the Beirut Bar Association or Tripoli Bar Association (fully admitted).
• Minimum 5 years of post‑graduate experience in an in‑house legal department or reputable business law firm in Lebanon.
• Fluent in Arabic and English (written and spoken); French proficiency highly desired.
