Junior Department Store Treasury Specialist

About the role

The Junior Department Store Treasury Specialist supports the treasury function of a retail environment, ensuring cash, credit‑card and gift‑card operations run smoothly and meet key performance indicators. This entry‑level position works closely with the Head Office Treasury Manager and internal stakeholders to maintain cash integrity and accurate financial reporting.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in achieving treasury and collection KPIs aligned with business goals.
• Perform daily spot checks of cash reserves, cash‑difference reporting and monthly deduction reconciliation.
• Verify daily gift‑card, credit‑card settlements and sales reports for accuracy.
• Support cash float delivery, tenant payments, and processing of tenant checks and cash.
• Conduct spot checks on point‑of‑sale systems and coordinate with banks and external partners.
• Prepare cash transfers to central safe or bank and update vault balance reports.
• Notify managers of equipment needs, shortages of small banknotes, or credit‑card machine returns.

Required profile

• Recent graduate or 0‑2 years of experience in treasury, cash management or retail finance.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow procedural instructions.
• Good communication skills for coordination with internal teams and external banks.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced retail environment and handle multiple daily tasks.

Required skills

• Basic understanding of cash handling, cash‑difference reporting and reconciliation.
• Familiarity with point‑of‑sale (POS) systems and credit‑card processing.
• Proficiency in using spreadsheets for daily financial tracking.
