Internship for Institutional Support (Beirut)

About the role

UNFPA Lebanon is offering an internship for institutional support, under the direct supervision of UNFPA Lebanon and jointly with the Ministerial focal point. The intern supports the Government of Lebanon (a selected ministry) team and bridges the gap between young students and the government, giving first-hand experience of public administration while serving the SRHR mandate.

Key responsibilities

• Assist host ministry staff in implementing UNFPA workplans and joint activities, and provide technical, operational and administrative support to departments on SRHR, GBV, Youth Empowerment and Population Dynamics
• Carry out desk research, draft background documents, and conduct qualitative and quantitative research and data analysis (dataset cleaning, thematic synthesis)
• Help draft reports, presentations and briefs, and track project timelines, milestones and deliverables
• Coordinate between the ministry and UNFPA, attend joint meetings and task forces, and help document minutes and follow-up actions
• Report in person five times a week at the Ministry, including one day at UNFPA each month, and attend the 2-day UNFPA review and planning meeting in November 2026

Required profile

• Enrolled or recently graduated with a Master's in Social Sciences, Political Science, International Relations, Economics, Gender Studies, Public Health or a related field
• Interest in development, social policy and public policy
• Fluent written and spoken English and Arabic
• Ability to adapt to new environments and work with people of different cultural backgrounds
• Prior experience volunteering or working with development or public health agencies is a strong asset

Required skills

• Data analysis tools and software such as Excel, with experience producing clean statistical summaries
• Analytical, conceptual and technical writing skills
