Credit Officer – Accounts Receivable & Credit Management

About the role

The Credit Officer is responsible for applying the company’s credit and collection policies while maintaining internal controls. The role focuses on assessing the creditworthiness of existing and prospective clients and ensuring timely collections.

Key responsibilities

• Maximize accounts receivable performance and mitigate risk through timely collections and accurate follow‑up on due amounts.
• Approve credit lines for small to mid‑sized customer accounts within the approved insurance limit.
• Collaborate with the sales team and other departments to resolve customer credit issues.
• Ensure post‑dated cheques are collected and deposited on schedule.
• Prepare and send balance confirmations and monthly statements to clients, reporting status to relevant stakeholders.
• Build and maintain customer credit files with supporting documents, updating them regularly.
• Coordinate credit actions with the sales team as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or a related field.
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in credit assessment, risk analysis, credit approvals, monitoring, and receivables management.
• Hands‑on experience with accounts receivable follow‑up and collection activities.
• Experience with credit insurance or trade credit insurance is an advantage.
• Familiarity with customers in the Levant and GCC markets is preferred.

Required skills

• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
