Assistant Country Communications Officer

About the role

The Assistant Country Communications supports the country team in creating and delivering communications, media, and grant materials. The role ensures timely information flow to internal and external stakeholders and helps showcase the impact of IMC’s work.

Key responsibilities

• Document impact through written stories, photos, and videos, collecting testimonials from beneficiaries.
• Obtain informed consent from beneficiaries for publication.
• Monitor media trends, identify opportunities, and pitch stories to reporters.
• Support social‑media planning and execution in coordination with the country and Global Communications teams.
• Coordinate with external vendors such as agencies, filmmakers, and photographers.
• Assist technical, monitoring & evaluation, and grants teams in producing high‑quality reports and communication materials.
• Ensure branding consistency for field offices, staff communications, events, and visibility items according to donor guidelines.
• Support the production of brochures, flyers, banners, and other internal and external communications.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• 1‑3 years of corporate communications experience in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a multicultural team.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Experience in the humanitarian or development sector is desirable.

Required skills

• Proficiency with the Microsoft Office suite.
• Strong photography and videography abilities.
• Familiarity with design and production processes for print and digital media.
