Technical Support Specialist (Level 1/2) – Access & SQL

About the role

Aspire Software is looking for a hands‑on Technical Support Specialist to provide end‑to‑end support for a member‑management, dues‑collection, and dispatch platform used by trade unions in the United States. The solution combines a Microsoft Access front‑end installed on client machines with a SQL Server back‑end. The position blends Level 1 frontline troubleshooting with Level 2 deeper diagnosis and direct code fixes.

Key responsibilities

• Own client‑reported issues from intake through diagnosis, resolution, testing, and closure.
• Provide Level 1 (frontline) and Level 2 (technical) support, remotely accessing client systems via tools such as TeamViewer, AnyDesk, or Zoom.
• Read, modify, and test VBA scripts, Access forms/queries/modules, and SQL Server objects (queries, stored procedures, views) to fix defects.
• Write and execute SQL queries to investigate data issues, correct records, and validate fixes.
• Troubleshoot application functionality, connectivity, configuration, and data‑integrity problems in the Access/SQL Server environment.
• Reproduce reported bugs, identify root causes, implement fixes, and verify resolution before returning to the client.
• Escalate complex or architectural issues to senior engineers with clear documentation.
• Document resolutions, maintain support logs, and contribute to the internal knowledge base.

Required profile

• 2–5 years of experience in IT technical support, application support, or a help‑desk role.
• Fluent English with strong written and verbal communication skills for interaction with North‑American clients.
• Solid SQL skills – ability to read, write, modify, and test queries against SQL Server.
• Experience debugging Microsoft Access applications and legacy tech stacks, including VBA.
