Social Science Editor

About the role

We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail‑oriented Social Science Editor to review, edit, and develop educational content across a range of social‑science subjects. The role ensures the accuracy, clarity, consistency, and educational quality of learning materials, assessments, textbooks and digital resources for students and educators.

Key responsibilities

• Edit, proofread, and review educational content for accuracy, clarity, consistency and adherence to editorial standards.
• Verify the correctness of historical, political, economic, geographical and social‑science information.
• Develop, revise and improve lesson plans, assessments and other learning resources.
• Ensure content aligns with curriculum requirements, learning objectives and educational standards.
• Conduct research and fact‑checking to maintain academic integrity.
• Review content for neutrality, cultural sensitivity, inclusiveness and age appropriateness.
• Simplify complex social‑science concepts into clear, engaging material.
• Collaborate with curriculum developers, educators, writers and subject‑matter experts.
• Maintain consistency in terminology, formatting, style and instructional approach across publications.
• Stay informed about developments in social sciences, education and curriculum frameworks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as Political Science, Social Studies Education, Sociology, History, Geography, Economics or International Relations.
• Knowledge of several social‑science disciplines (e.g., Geography, History, Economics, Sociology, Civic Education, optional Psychology).
• Minimum 2 years of experience in editing, content development, educational publishing, curriculum design, research or teaching.
• Experience reviewing educational or curriculum‑based content is preferred.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Experience with digital content management tools.
