Senior SSC AP Accountant

About the role

We are looking for a Senior SSC AP Accountant to join our shared services centre. The role will manage end‑to‑end accounts‑payable processes, ensure timely vendor payments and maintain accurate financial records while supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities

• Record purchase invoices promptly in line with accounting guidelines.
• Execute weekly vendor payments according to group policy and resolve any questionable charges.
• Perform bank account postings, reconciliations and maintain up‑to‑date supplier bank details.
• Conduct periodic vendor and customer balance reconciliations, review unallocated cash items and intercompany transactions.
• Review and reconcile balance‑sheet accounts on a monthly basis.
• Monitor and meet monthly team KPIs, driving process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with internal controls, segregation of duties and delegation of authority.
• Assist with audit processes and handle ad‑hoc projects or process requests.
• Review employee expense reports for accuracy and policy compliance.
• Manage GRNI items and resolve payment‑related enquiries promptly.
• Support onboarding and training of new team members, sharing best practices.

Required profile

• Several years of experience in accounts payable within a shared services or large‑scale finance environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, vendor management and bank reconciliation.
• Proven ability to work with internal controls, audit requirements and KPI monitoring.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication skills for vendor interaction and stakeholder coordination.
• Capability to train and mentor junior staff.
