Senior Software Developer / Tech Lead (Node.js, TypeScript)

About the role

We are seeking a Senior Software Developer who will act as the Tech Lead for our core Field Service Management platform. You will own the platform’s technical direction, transition development in‑house, and build scalable systems that enable operational growth.

Key responsibilities

• Take ownership of the platform’s architecture, development, and long‑term roadmap.
• Lead the hand‑over from outsourced teams to internal engineers.
• Analyse the existing codebase, address technical debt, and define improvement plans.
• Design and implement scalable backend services using Node.js and TypeScript.
• Build and maintain REST APIs, with future readiness for GraphQL.
• Define system architecture ensuring reliability, security, and scalability.
• Architect modular or micro‑service solutions to support growth.
• Design, optimise, and maintain PostgreSQL schemas, queries, and indexes.
• Implement asynchronous processing (queues, background jobs, workers).
• Manage integrations with internal tools, third‑party APIs, and webhooks.
• Collaborate with frontend engineers (React/Next.js) and stakeholders.
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, containerised deployments, and engineering best practices.
• Mentor and lead an expanding internal development team.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong background as a senior full‑stack engineer or tech lead, with a focus on backend architecture.
• Proven ability to design, build, and maintain complex, scalable platforms.
• Experience leading teams and driving technical decisions.
