Protection Officer

About the role

ActionAid is seeking a Protection Officer to join its Emergency Response team in Beirut. The role focuses on delivering protection services to vulnerable populations affected by humanitarian crises, with particular attention to women, children, and marginalized groups.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement and monitor protection programmes in line with international standards.
• Conduct protection assessments, risk analyses and ongoing monitoring of vulnerable groups.
• Provide case management support, including documentation, follow‑up and referral to appropriate services.
• Deliver training and capacity‑building sessions for staff, partners and community volunteers on protection principles and best practices.

Required profile

• Master’s degree in Human Rights, Social Work, International Development or a related field.
• Minimum of 3 years professional experience in protection, case management or related humanitarian work.
• Strong knowledge of protection standards, humanitarian law and best‑practice case management tools.
• Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment and under pressure.
