Project Officer

About the role

We are seeking a Project Officer to support the efficient implementation of our child‑focused development projects. The role will coordinate field activities, manage casual staff, and ensure compliance with donor and safeguarding requirements while working closely with partners and communities.

Key responsibilities

• Implement assigned project activities according to weekly work plans and guidance from the Project Coordinator.
• Supervise field operations and casual workers, ensuring safe, organized and efficient delivery.
• Monitor compliance with organisational policies, donor requirements and safeguarding standards.
• Identify implementation challenges, propose solutions and escalate issues when necessary.
• Coordinate with partners, suppliers and community representatives to facilitate smooth activity rollout.
• Assist with procurement and logistical follow‑up within approved budgets and procedures.
• Support data collection, documentation and reporting to maintain accuracy and accountability.
• Maintain regular communication with the Project Coordinator and relevant teams on progress and field updates.
• Strengthen relationships with partners and act as a liaison during response activities.
• Contribute to the preparation of reports, updates and evaluations, and support proposal development.

Required profile

• Experience in project implementation or field coordination, preferably in humanitarian or development settings.
• Ability to supervise and support field staff and casual workers.
• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
• Good communication skills for interaction with partners, donors and community members.
• Understanding of donor reporting requirements and safeguarding principles.
