Electrical Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Electrical Maintenance Technician ensures the safe, reliable and uninterrupted operation of plant electrical systems in a fast‑moving food production environment. You will be responsible for both preventive and corrective maintenance, rapid breakdown response and compliance with safety, GMP and food‑safety standards.

Key responsibilities

• Perform preventive and corrective electrical maintenance on production and utility equipment.
• Diagnose and repair faults in motors, control panels, PLC systems, sensors, inverters (VFDs) and power distribution networks.
• Provide immediate electrical support during production stoppages and emergency breakdowns.
• Inspect electrical panels, wiring, motors, sensors and safety devices on a routine basis.
• Support installation, modification and upgrading of electrical systems as required.
• Follow lockout/tagout procedures, verify zero‑energy state and ensure all safety rules are applied.
• Record activities, breakdowns and corrective actions in the CMMS and assist with root‑cause analysis.
• Guide electrical helpers and coordinate with mechanical technicians during joint interventions.

Required profile

• Proven experience in electrical maintenance within an industrial or manufacturing setting.
• Strong understanding of safety, GMP and food‑safety requirements.
• Ability to work under pressure and minimise production downtime.
• Good communication skills to report hazards and coordinate with production teams.
