Academic Assistant

About the role

The Center for Research on Population and Health (CRPH) at the American University of Beirut is looking for a motivated Academic Assistant. The role supports research teams through communication, administrative, and specific research tasks, contributing to the centre’s high‑impact public health projects.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare PowerPoint presentations, infographics and social media posts in coordination with the Faculty of Health Sciences communication team.
• Maintain and update the CRPH website and social media calendar.
• Handle procurement processes using the Oracle system, issue purchase orders and manage office resources.
• Organise calendars, room bookings, events, webinars, workshops and conferences.
• Draft documentation for consultancies, service requests and proposals.
• Conduct literature reviews and produce short briefs for grant proposals and research projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree with a high GPA.
• At least one year of relevant professional experience.
• Excellent oral, written and editorial skills in English and Arabic.
• Strong interpersonal, time‑management and detail‑orientation abilities.
• Ability to work in a fast‑paced, team‑oriented environment and meet deadlines.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Experience with WordPress for website updates.
• Familiarity with Canva or similar design tools for infographics.
• Knowledge of Oracle procurement system.
