Waiter - Hotel Restaurant

About the role

Kempinski is hiring a waiter for its hotel restaurant in Beirut. The role covers serving food and beverages to guests in the assigned outlet with courteous, professional and efficient service that encourages sales and maximises guest satisfaction. The position is reported to the Head Waiter / Waitress, Supervisor, Assistant Manager and Outlet Manager.

Key responsibilities

• Serve guests in the assigned outlet and provide a professional, efficient service at all times
• Report to duty punctually in the correct uniform, clean and well pressed, with polished shoes and a nametag, following the hotel's dress code and grooming standards
• Know all hotel services and products, and all food and beverage items of the assigned department, and upsell them while offering alternatives
• Monitor operating supplies and equipment, reduce spoilage and wastage, and keep the workplace clean and organised
• Perform opening and closing procedures for the outlet
• Handle guest enquiries courteously, report guest complaints and feedback to supervisors and ensure follow-up with the guest
• Operate the POS system according to the assigned training level
• Follow the hotel's policy manual and fire, hygiene, health and safety rules
• Work well with colleagues, attend staff meetings and trainings, assist with scheduled inventories and carry out other reasonable duties assigned by the Department Head

Required profile

• Lebanese nationality
• Hospitality management or related education
• Experience in an F&B service role
• Excellent spoken and written Arabic and English; an additional language is beneficial
• Passion for food and beverage and for European luxury, people-oriented, entrepreneurial, team player, works well under pressure
