VAWG Protection Manager

About the role

The VAWG Protection Manager will lead the implementation of violence‑against‑women‑and‑girls (VAWG) protection interventions in partnership with local organisations. Working closely with IMC’s protection leadership, partners and community stakeholders, the manager will ensure high‑quality, survivor‑centred programmes that adhere to humanitarian principles.

Key responsibilities

• Collaborate with IMC’s VAWG protection team, partners and community stakeholders to plan and design interventions.
• Identify, select and assess local organisations for partnership, leading capacity reviews and sharing plans.
• Develop and implement partner support plans, including technical trainings, monitoring visits and coaching.
• Assist partners with recruitment, staff training and integration of staff care policies.
• Support partners in establishing and using monitoring and reporting systems; review reports and provide feedback.
• Coordinate with IMC departments (Partnerships, M&E, HR) and represent partners in external coordination mechanisms.
• Promote a survivor‑centred approach and ensure partners receive appropriate credit in external communications.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing protection or humanitarian programmes, preferably with a focus on VAWG.
• Strong background in partnership development, capacity building and programme monitoring.
• Excellent communication and coordination skills with diverse stakeholders.
• Ability to work in challenging environments and adapt plans based on monitoring results.

Required skills

• Knowledge of humanitarian protection standards and VAWG programming.
• Experience with monitoring and reporting tools used in humanitarian contexts.
