Tech Lead – Build 0‑1 Products

About the role

We are seeking a seasoned Tech Lead to drive our 0‑1 product development at Toters. This is a unique opportunity to shape a product from the ground up, collaborating cross‑functionally to deliver a high‑impact solution in the Middle East market.

Key responsibilities

• Lead design, architecture, and development of new 0‑1 products, balancing rapid iteration with scalability.
• Mentor backend and mobile engineers, set coding standards, and review code for quality and security.
• Architect scalable backend solutions using microservices, event‑driven and serverless designs.
• Break down complex projects, monitor progress, and communicate updates to stakeholders.
• Participate in recruiting and collaborate with product, design, and other cross‑functional teams.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, or related field.
• 8+ years of backend engineering experience, including technical leadership roles.
• Proven track record designing and delivering large‑scale distributed systems.
• Experience launching successful 0‑1 products at startups or fast‑growing tech companies.
• Startup mindset with focus on rapid prototyping and customer impact.

Required skills

• Backend programming languages: Python, Java, Node.js, Go.
• Architectural principles: Microservices, Domain‑Driven Design, Event‑Driven Architecture.
• Cloud platforms: AWS (EC2, ECS, Lambda, RDS).
• RESTful API design, relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL), caching/queuing (Redis).
• Containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes).
• CI/CD pipelines, Git, and DevOps practices.
