Senior SSC GL Accountant

About the role

The Senior SSC GL Accountant will be based in our Beirut office and will take a senior position within the General Ledger (GL) department, reporting to the Group Reporting Manager. The role supports the Finance Shared Services team and is responsible for end‑to‑end accounting for more than 30 legal entities across the EMEA region.

Key responsibilities

• Review and post journal entries in line with accounting guidelines.
• Record and review provisions, accruals, and foreign‑exchange revaluations for vendors, customers, banks and GL accounts.
• Oversee fixed‑asset depreciation, bank reconciliations, and vendor/customer balance reconciliations.
• Manage intercompany transactions, loans, and reconciliations, performing root‑cause analysis when needed.
• Conduct monthly and yearly closing activities, monitoring KPI performance and ensuring compliance with internal controls.
• Collaborate with local finance teams to resolve issues, support D365 migration, and test ERP process setups.
• Assist in implementing automation tools, reporting on Group rule compliance, and supporting audit processes.
• Handle ad‑hoc projects and process improvement requests.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in general ledger accounting within a shared services environment.
• Strong knowledge of accounting standards and internal control frameworks.
• Proven ability to work with multiple legal entities and cross‑border transactions.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
