Financial Manager

About the role

The Financial Manager will lead the financial operations of a busy law firm, ensuring accurate planning, budgeting, reporting and compliance with legal industry standards. This role reports directly to senior partners and plays a key part in strategic decision‑making.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and present financial strategies, budgets and detailed reports tailored to the law firm’s needs.
• Monitor cash flow, billing, collections and manage client trust accounts in line with ethical and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee variance analysis, expense control and ensure alignment with firm objectives.
• Coordinate with auditors, regulators and financial institutions to maintain compliance.
• Lead the finance team, providing training, performance evaluations and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or related field; Master’s or CPA preferred.
• 5‑7 years of finance/accounting experience, including at least 2 years in a managerial role, preferably within a law firm or professional services environment.

Required skills

• Advanced Excel proficiency.
• Experience with financial software and legal billing systems.
• Financial modeling and forecasting capabilities.
