Senior Specialist, Internal Audit

About the role

OMT's Beirut head office is looking for a Senior Specialist, Internal Audit. The specialist performs individual internal audit projects within the overall audit plan, covering scope development, audit procedures and reporting. The role also adopts systematic audit approaches to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of operations and processes, and assesses the efficiency of controls and risk management, the adequacy of policies and procedures, and compliance with laws and regulations.

Key responsibilities

• Lead fraud investigations, regular and ad hoc audits, special assignments, risk assessments and key internal audit projects
• Review transactions, documents, records, reports and accounts, prepare working papers and audit reports, and document business processes and governance practices
• Evaluate compliance with laws, policies and regulations and assess internal controls
• Conduct fieldwork, interact with management and auditees, and act as a liaison between groups
• Develop preliminary findings and recommendations, collaborate with management on corrective actions, and present detailed reports
• Analyze data with advanced analytics tools such as ACL, including ratio analysis

Required profile

• University degree in Business Administration (audit, finance or accounting focus); a Master's degree is a plus
• CIA certification is mandatory; CPA, CISA or CFE is a plus
• 7-10 years of experience; Big 4 or international experience is a plus
• Experience in internal audit, risk management, fraud investigation or external audit

Required skills

• Advanced written and spoken English; moderate Arabic; French is a plus
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office tools
• ACL is a plus
• Strong communication, analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, ethics and confidentiality
