Senior Public Health Engineer – South Lebanon

About the role

Oxfam is seeking a Senior Public Health Engineer to lead emergency WASH interventions in South Lebanon. The role supports conflict‑affected populations, returnees, IDPs and vulnerable communities by delivering safe water and sanitation solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and supervise public health engineering activities, including emergency water supply, water trucking, and rehabilitation of water systems.
• Design, install and upgrade WASH facilities and emergency sanitation infrastructure.
• Prepare technical designs, Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and oversee site supervision.
• Manage contractors, partners and ensure quality assurance, health and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with local authorities, service providers, partners and the South Lebanon Water Establishment.
• Provide technical assessments for rehabilitation and construction works.
• Build capacity of PHE staff and contribute to emergency preparedness and rapid response planning.

Required profile

• 3+ years experience in public health engineering, preferably in Lebanon’s humanitarian or development sector.
• Civil, Mechanical or Environmental Engineering degree (or equivalent experience).
• Proven experience in team and site project management.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Alignment with Oxfam’s mission and feminist principles.
