Senior Mechanical Technician

About the role

The Senior Mechanical Technician ensures the reliable operation, maintenance, and performance of all mechanical systems across university campuses. This includes HVAC equipment, chillers, pumps, and related infrastructure, with a focus on energy efficiency and occupant comfort.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain chillers, pumps, air handling units (AHUs), fan coil units (FCUs), ventilation and cooling systems to ensure efficient operation.
• Execute preventive maintenance programs, conduct inspections, diagnose faults and perform corrective repairs.
• Respond to maintenance requests via the CAFM system and support emergency HVAC restoration.
• Monitor system performance, identify inefficiencies, and assist with building management system (BMS) coordination.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and environmental (HSE) procedures and coordinate with HSE when required.
• Report recurring issues, maintain accurate maintenance records, and communicate risks to the maintenance team.

Required profile

• Technical Diploma (BT/TS) in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in HVAC or mechanical systems maintenance.
• Experience in an institutional or multi‑building campus environment is preferred.
• Familiarity with BMS and CAFM platforms and knowledge of energy‑efficiency practices.
