Senior Protection Manager

About the role

The Protection and Rule of Law (PRoL) Senior Manager will provide strategic and technical leadership for IRC's protection programmes in Lebanon, overseeing multi‑location projects that include legal aid, case management, cash assistance and advocacy.

Key responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of the PRoL programme, ensuring alignment with IRC’s integrated protection strategy and donor requirements.
• Provide overall programmatic oversight of protection projects, managing budgets, grant deliverables and multi‑donor compliance.
• Coordinate with field teams, partners, MEAL, finance and supply chain to track progress, identify risks and drive corrective actions.
• Represent IRC in national protection forums, engage government ministries, UN agencies and NGOs, and lead the Access to Justice for Children consortium.
• Mentor and supervise senior protection managers and technical staff, delivering capacity‑building workshops and coaching.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree (advanced degree in Law, International Human Rights or related field preferred).
• 5+ years experience in protection and rule‑of‑law programming, including case management and legal services.
• Minimum 3 years in managerial roles, preferably in emergency or post‑conflict settings.
• Strong knowledge of the Lebanese protection context, including refugee issues, gender‑based violence and legal documentation.

Required skills

• Technical oversight of protection monitoring, legal services and cash‑for‑protection interventions.
• Experience with legal case tracking systems (e.g., CommCare) and MEAL processes.
• Capacity‑building design and facilitation for staff and partner organisations.
