Senior Health Officer

About the role

The International Rescue Committee is seeking a Senior Health Officer to lead technical support for emergency health interventions in Beirut. You will work closely with implementing partners to ensure that all health activities meet national guidelines, Ministry of Public Health standards, and IRC sector recommendations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day technical assistance to partners, aligning activities with national health protocols.
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor service quality, protocol adherence, and partner performance.
• Oversee partner capacity‑strengthening plans, track progress, and address gaps.
• Support implementation of emergency health services, including SRH, PFA, MHPSS, PHC, and rehabilitation.
• Review and harmonize partners’ SOPs, tools, and reporting formats with IRC and MoPH requirements.
• Deliver training sessions and develop IEC materials tailored to the emergency context.
• Ensure protection mainstreaming, safe identification, and referral mechanisms are applied across all activities.

Required profile

• Proven experience in humanitarian emergency health response.
• Strong ability to coordinate with multiple partners and government bodies.
• Excellent field monitoring and data validation skills.
• Solutions‑driven mindset with a passion for improving health outcomes in crisis settings.
