Senior Accountant

About the role

Ruman & Associates is seeking a Senior Accountant to manage a diverse portfolio of business clients. You will go beyond traditional bookkeeping, acting as a trusted advisor who helps clients make informed financial decisions and improve profitability.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of business clients across multiple industries.
• Review monthly and annual financial statements for accuracy and GAAP compliance.
• Perform complex account reconciliations and financial analysis.
• Identify accounting issues and recommend solutions.
• Meet with clients to explain financial performance and key metrics.
• Collaborate with the tax team to uncover tax‑planning opportunities.
• Mentor junior accountants, review their work, and provide technical guidance.
• Leverage AI and automation tools to streamline accounting processes.
• Maintain high‑quality documentation and support firm‑wide initiatives.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field.
• 4–7+ years of public accounting or outsourced accounting experience.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and firm accounting standards.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Passion for continuous learning and using technology to improve efficiency.
