Public Health Officer – National Post - Lebanon - North

About the role

The Public Health Officer will support and supervise health care facilities in Tripoli and Berqayel, ensuring high‑quality primary health services and alignment with national guidelines. Reporting to the Health Program Coordinator, the officer leads a team of community health workers and collaborates closely with medical, nutrition, and case‑management staff.

Key responsibilities

• Represent RI at supported primary health centers (PHCs) and maintain effective communication with PHC managers.
• Coordinate implementation of Primary Healthcare Center programs in line with national protocols (LPSP).
• Provide technical guidance to health staff, monitor essential supplies, and ensure accurate patient billing.
• Collect verification documents, analyze health data using Microsoft Excel, and produce reports for program planning.
• Conduct routine data‑quality checks, verify means of verification, and safeguard beneficiary data.
• Develop and deliver capacity‑building plans, training, and on‑the‑job coaching for PHC staff.
• Assist in creating improvement plans for facility quality and follow up on implementation.
• Monitor Primary Healthcare Satellite Units, ensuring staffing, attendance, and service quality.
• Support communicable disease surveillance, outbreak preparedness, and early‑warning reporting.

• Decision‑making authority within the scope of the role, with coordination with the Health Program Coordinator.
