Public Health Monitoring & Verification Consultant – Beirut (South Area)

About the role

The International Organization for Migration (IOM) is seeking a consultant to support its Public Health Unit in Lebanon. Based in Beirut, the consultant will provide surge capacity for field verification, monitoring and data quality assurance of health interventions targeting vulnerable populations.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct field verification missions to PHU‑supported activities and submit at least four verification reports per month.
• Prepare and submit monthly monitoring and evidence packages, including attendance records, photographs and checklists.
• Review and verify field‑level data, producing data quality assurance reports that highlight inconsistencies and recommend corrective measures.
• Submit analytical reports on community‑based health activities, assessing progress against targets and identifying challenges.
• Carry out verification assessments of selected health facilities, service delivery points and Mobile Medical Teams, documenting service availability and operational gaps.
• Document stakeholder consultations, coordination meetings and information‑sharing activities with partners and authorities.
• Perform rapid monitoring exercises on request, delivering concise verification reports for displacement situations, disease outbreaks or emergencies.
• Compile a consolidated monthly monitoring report summarising key findings, risks, follow‑up actions and recommendations.

Required profile

• High school diploma with at least four years relevant experience, or a bachelor’s degree in medicine, nursing, public health or a related field with a minimum of two years experience.
• Proven experience liaising with governmental authorities, UN agencies and NGOs.
• Experience working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons or other vulnerable groups.
• Prior work with international humanitarian organizations or similar institutions.
• Ability to produce timely, accurate field documentation and reports.
• Demonstrated professionalism, accountability and adherence to IOM rules and values.
