Protection Assistant (South)

About the role

Oxfam in Lebanon is seeking a Protection Assistant (South) to support its mission of improving the safety of civilian populations affected by insecurity and displacement. The role will contribute to both local and national efforts to strengthen protection frameworks and ensure the rights of vulnerable communities.

Key responsibilities

• Assist in the design and implementation of protection activities and work plans.
• Organise and prioritise tasks, monitor project quality and spending.
• Collect and analyse data, support referral systems and participatory assessments.
• Support monitoring, learning and adaptation processes at the project level.
• Collaborate with team members and external partners to deliver protection interventions.

Required profile

• Strong alignment with Oxfam’s mission, feminist principles and values of empowerment, accountability and inclusion.
• Self‑awareness, humility and good listening skills.
• BA degree in a relevant field (social sciences, development studies, etc.).
• Good understanding of protection and refugee contexts, including basic human‑rights knowledge.
• Excellent Arabic and good English language skills.
• Willingness to work in insecure environments with high adaptability and initiative.
