Programme Coordinator – Youth Engagement & Local Governance

About the role

The Programme Coordinator will support UNICEF’s Youth and Adolescents and Local Governance programmes in South Lebanon and Nabatieh (SAN). Reporting to the Chief of Field Office, the role provides technical assistance for programme design, implementation, monitoring and reporting, ensuring that activities meet UNICEF’s objectives for children, adolescents and youth.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support for programme planning, design and implementation across youth and local governance sectors.
• Conduct field visits, surveys and partner engagements to monitor progress and identify integration opportunities.
• Collect, analyse and report programme data to inform decision‑making and contribute to regular programme reviews.
• Identify and address bottlenecks, escalating critical issues to senior staff for timely resolution.
• Participate in monitoring and evaluation exercises, including annual reviews with government and other stakeholders.
• Prepare documentation and materials required for programme approval and review processes.

Required profile

• Relevant experience in programme management, youth/adolescent development or local governance, preferably in humanitarian or development contexts.
• Strong analytical and reporting abilities with experience in data collection and analysis.
• Ability to work effectively with partners, government agencies and internal teams.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of Arabic is an advantage.
