Production Assistant – Garment Manufacturing

About the role

The Production Assistant will oversee daily operations of the production department, ensuring efficient workflow, high‑quality workmanship, and timely completion of garments. This part‑time position coordinates the tailoring team, manages fabric inventory, and liaises with suppliers to keep production running smoothly.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and support the tailoring team to meet productivity and quality standards.
• Plan, assign, and coordinate daily production tasks according to schedules and delivery deadlines.
• Monitor garment progress, resolve workflow issues, and inspect finished items for quality compliance.
• Maintain accurate inventory of fabrics and production materials.
• Coordinate fabric purchasing, request quotations, place orders, and follow up on deliveries.
• Collaborate with design, pattern‑making, and production teams for collections and custom orders.
• Identify production bottlenecks and implement process improvements.
• Prepare production reports and communicate progress to management.
• Train, mentor, and evaluate tailoring staff.
• Travel to suppliers, showroom, and production house for sourcing and operational follow‑up.

Required profile

• Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design, Apparel Production, Textile Management, Business Administration or related field (preferred).
• 3–5 years of experience in garment production, tailoring, or fashion manufacturing.
• Previous supervisory or team‑leadership experience (preferred).
• Strong organizational, leadership, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of garment construction, tailoring techniques, and production processes.
• Experience with inventory management and supplier coordination.
