Product Manager – Payments Solutions

About the role

Tamatem Plus is seeking an experienced Product Manager to own a payment product module from discovery through launch and continuous improvement. You will work closely with merchants, payment providers, and internal teams to deliver localized payment experiences across the MENA region.

Key responsibilities

• Own the product lifecycle: define business objectives, gather merchant requirements, develop, launch, document, and iterate on the product.
• Lead discovery activities, assess market needs, and research how payment providers solve similar problems.
• Translate business and merchant needs into product requirements, user stories, payment flows, and acceptance criteria.
• Manage integrations with providers, acquiring banks, wallets, and alternative payment methods from assessment through testing and production launch.
• Review API and integration documentation, understand capabilities, dependencies, and payment flows.
• Collaborate with engineering to clarify requirements and troubleshoot integration issues.
• Track product metrics such as success rates, conversion, failures, costs, refunds, chargebacks, and settlement performance.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science, Information Systems, Finance, Economics or related field; master’s degree is a plus.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience, including at least 2 years in product management.
• Experience at a payment service provider, gateway, acquiring bank, fintech, or payment orchestrator.
• Hands‑on experience developing, launching, or managing payment solutions.
• Ability to work effectively with engineering teams without writing code.

Required skills

• API integration and documentation review.
• Understanding of JSON payloads, webhooks, transaction statuses, error codes, retries, and timeouts.
• Management of payment integrations with providers, acquirers, banks, wallets, or alternative methods.
• Data‑driven decision making and detailed product requirement writing.
