Planning & Commissioning Engineer

About the role

The Planning & Commissioning Engineer will lead the planning, scheduling, budgeting and coordination of engineering and industrial projects from initiation through completion. The role also supports commissioning, start‑up, testing, validation and handover of new production lines and equipment, working closely with engineering, production, maintenance, quality, procurement, contractors and suppliers.

Key responsibilities

• Develop detailed project plans, schedules, work breakdown structures, milestones, critical paths, resource requirements and execution strategies.
• Establish baseline schedules and budgets, monitor progress and expenditure, and prepare cash‑flow forecasts.
• Identify schedule delays or cost deviations and recommend corrective actions.
• Coordinate planning activities across civil, mechanical, electrical, utilities, infrastructure and equipment installation.
• Track procurement, manufacturing, delivery, installation, testing and commissioning against the overall schedule.
• Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports covering schedule status, budget status, risks and required actions.
• Facilitate communication between engineering, production, maintenance, procurement, quality, contractors and suppliers.
• Develop commissioning plans, checklists, schedules and readiness requirements for new production lines and major equipment.
