Pharmacist

About the role

A full‑time, on‑site pharmacist position in a community‑focused pharmacy located in Hamra, Beirut, serving patients, medical staff and visitors of the nearby American University of Beirut Medical Center.

Key responsibilities

• Dispense medications accurately according to prescriptions, verify dosages and screen for potential drug interactions.
• Counsel patients on proper medication use, side effects, storage and adherence, providing clear and empathetic guidance.
• Review and process prescriptions, maintain accurate patient and medication records, and manage inventory.
• Ensure proper storage, handling and safety of pharmaceuticals in compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate with physicians, nurses and other healthcare professionals to support seamless pharmacy operations.
• Maintain a clean, organized workspace and assist with basic administrative and customer‑service duties as needed.

Required profile

• Professional pharmacy knowledge with a strong understanding of medications, dosages, interactions and contraindications.
• Ability to provide patient counseling and communicate medical information clearly and empathetically.
• Attention to detail, commitment to safety and adherence to legal and ethical standards.
• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or PharmD from an accredited institution and valid pharmacist licensure (or eligibility) in the relevant jurisdiction.
• Strong organizational and time‑management skills for a fast‑paced environment.
• Collaborative mindset to work effectively with healthcare professionals and diverse patients.

Required skills

• Prescription processing and record‑keeping.
• Use of pharmacy management systems or software.
• Fluency in English and Arabic (preferred); additional languages are a plus.
