Mental Health Supervisor (Beirut, Lebanon)

About the role

The Mental Health Supervisor will lead and coordinate mental health and psychosocial support services across Relief International‑supported primary health care centers, psychosocial units, and community activities in Beirut. Reporting to the Health Program Manager, the role ensures quality, ethical, and patient‑centered care while supervising case managers and clinical psychologists.

Key responsibilities

• Build capacity of PHCC staff, case managers, clinical psychologists, CHVs and PSU teams on safe identification, referral and management of mental health cases following MoPH/NMHP guidance and mhGAP principles.
• Provide regular technical supervision, mentoring and clinical support to the mental health team.
• Develop and update capacity‑building plans based on supervision findings and project priorities.
• Monitor service quality, propose improvements, and ensure compliance with Do No Harm, safeguarding and quality‑of‑care standards.
• Compile, review and analyse mental health data, reporting trends, gaps and risks to the Health Program Manager.
• Organise multidisciplinary case discussions for complex, high‑risk cases including suicide risk, severe mental health conditions, SGBV/CP concerns and vulnerable populations.
• Oversee outreach activities targeting IDPs, refugees and host communities, and maintain referral networks with protection, disability and specialized service actors.

Required profile

• Experience supervising mental health professionals in a humanitarian or public health setting.
• Familiarity with MoPH/NMHP guidelines, mhGAP and safeguarding standards.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive patient information.
