Junior Data Analyst

About the role

Sallaum Lines is seeking a motivated Junior Data Analyst to join its Data & AI Unit. You will work closely with senior BI professionals to turn raw operational data into actionable dashboards, reports, and insights that support decisions across fleet and shore‑side operations. This hands‑on position is ideal for an early‑career professional eager to grow in data analytics, business intelligence, and data engineering within a high‑volume shipping environment.

Key responsibilities

• Build and maintain Power BI reports and dashboards under senior guidance.
• Write, test, and optimise SQL queries against SQL Server for data extraction and validation.
• Perform data cleaning, shaping, and transformation using Power Query.
• Support data reconciliation and quality checks by verifying record counts, revenue figures, and shipment data.
• Document data sources, measures, report logic, and data processes.
• Respond to ad‑hoc data requests from operations, commercial, and finance units.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, Business Analytics, Information Systems or related field.
• 2–3 years of experience in data analytics or business intelligence.
• Strong analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
• Proactive learning mindset and ability to work with both technical and business stakeholders.

Required skills

• SQL (SELECT, joins, aggregations) on SQL Server.
• Power BI, DAX, Power Query (M).
• Microsoft Excel for data visualisation.
• Python for data manipulation.
• Familiarity with Agentic AI, Copilot Studio, Power Automate, Office Scripts, Microsoft Fabric (advantageous).
