About the role

We are seeking a Junior Cyber Security Specialist to join our SMS and CPaaS team. The role focuses on securing messaging platforms, analyzing security risks, and developing automation tools using Python and JavaScript.

Key responsibilities

Monitor and investigate security events, alerts, and suspicious activities.
Develop security and automation scripts using Python and JavaScript.
Analyze, test, and secure REST APIs and web services.
Identify vulnerabilities in web applications, APIs, and internal systems.
Review application logs and network traffic to detect threats.
Support implementation of authentication, authorization, and encryption mechanisms.
Perform basic penetration testing and vulnerability assessments under guidance.
Assist in securing SMS, A2P messaging, and CPaaS platforms.
Create tools for monitoring, reporting, and security automation.
Document findings, incidents, and remediation recommendations.

Required profile

Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, IT or equivalent practical experience.
Strong knowledge of Python and JavaScript.
Understanding of HTTP/HTTPS, REST APIs, JSON, WebSockets and API authentication.
Knowledge of networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, VPN, firewalls, routing, switching).
Familiarity with encryption and security concepts (AES, RSA, TLS/SSL, SHA‑256, SHA‑512, HMAC, JWT).
Experience with Linux environments.
Strong troubleshooting and analytical abilities.
Good written and verbal communication skills.
