Junior Accountant

About the role

Capelli Sport / USA, working with Fact Universal S.A.L., a Lebanese company that runs its back offices in the United States, Germany, China and the MENA region, is looking for a highly motivated and detail-oriented junior accountant. The position is based in Jounieh/Harissa, Lebanon, and requires working according to American Standard Eastern time; it is not remote.

Key responsibilities

• Post and process journal entries so that all business transactions are recorded.
• Assist with accounts payable: process invoices, prepare payments and reconcile vendor accounts.
• Assist with accounts receivable: generate customer invoices, track payments and follow up on past-due accounts.
• Assist with general ledger, including journal entries and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts.
• Support monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting and the monthly, quarterly and yearly closings, helping senior accountants prepare them.
• Prepare bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies, and reconcile credit card statements.
• Maintain accurate records and update financial data in databases.
• Assist with other accounting projects.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance or a related field.
• 2-3 years of experience in an accounting role.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Extremely proficient English (verbal, reading and writing).
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
• Knowledge of QuickBooks and SAP is an advantage.
