Java Software Engineer - Automated Testing Library

About the role

A Java Software Engineer with at least 3 years of experience is sought to join a development team in Beirut, Lebanon. The role contributes to the development and enhancement of an automated testing library supporting enterprise-grade financial applications, within the financial services and capital markets industry.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop and maintain robust Java-based software components.
• Contribute to the development and continuous enhancement of an automated testing framework.
• Develop reusable libraries and utilities to improve test automation.
• Analyse functional and technical requirements and turn them into technical solutions.
• Implement clean, maintainable and scalable object-oriented code.
• Develop and run automated tests to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Troubleshoot, debug and resolve application and test automation issues.
• Collaborate with developers, testers, business analysts and other stakeholders; take part in code reviews.
• Improve testing processes, frameworks and automation coverage, and document technical solutions and test scenarios.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science.
• Minimum 3 years of professional experience in Java software development.
• Experience with the software development lifecycle and good understanding of unit testing and automated testing.
• Ability to work in a team and independently, meet deadlines and manage several priorities.

Required skills

• Strong Java and object-oriented programming skills.
• Preferred: test automation experience, JUnit, TestNG, Selenium, Maven or Gradle, Git and CI/CD.
• Preferred: experience in banking, financial services, capital markets or enterprise applications, and knowledge of trading, risk or back-office processes.
