Intermediate Software Developer (Modernization & Integration)

About the role

Aspire Software is seeking an Intermediate Software Developer to modernize legacy components, enhance IIS‑based deployments and advance DevOps maturity. The role blends core engineering with forward‑deployed work, requiring close interaction with customers to design, build and roll out integrations for ERP systems used by school districts and local governments.

Key responsibilities

• Read, maintain, troubleshoot, and extend code within Keystone's Rocket UniVerse and MultiValue ERP applications.
• Lead technical discovery for complex requests by examining customer workflow, data, existing systems, constraints, and success criteria.
• Design and build reliable integrations with third‑party systems using REST APIs, web services, secure file exchange, imports and exports.
• Develop practical modernization approaches that improve maintainability, security and user experience without disrupting critical operations.
• Create diagnostic utilities, conversion programs, data‑correction scripts and repeatable automation for support and implementation.

Required profile

• Substantial professional software development experience, preferably in enterprise, ERP, financial or public‑sector applications.
• Strong backend development and data‑problem‑solving skills, including understanding unfamiliar schemas, indexes and business rules.
• Experience delivering technical work directly with customers, from discovery through rollout and post‑deployment follow‑through.
• Ability to diagnose issues spanning application code, data, interfaces, infrastructure and user workflow.
