About the role

The Head of Faculty Capabilities Development leads the strategic design and delivery of faculty growth programmes at USEK, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities, innovation agendas and long‑term academic excellence. This senior leader creates career pathways, pedagogical initiatives and leadership programmes that support faculty as educators, researchers and institutional contributors.

Key responsibilities

• Design and oversee structured faculty development frameworks aligned with career stages and academic leadership roles.
• Define institutional capability priorities such as teaching excellence, AI readiness, advising effectiveness and faculty engagement.
• Develop and scale professional development programmes across all academic units, ensuring consistency, quality and alignment with university strategy.
• Lead initiatives that strengthen teaching quality, student‑centred learning and evidence‑based pedagogical practices.
• Translate institutional AI strategies into practical training, equipping faculty to adopt AI responsibly in teaching, assessment and research.
• Create and manage academic leadership development programmes for heads of department, program directors and emerging leaders.
• Assess faculty development needs through surveys, consultations and impact analyses, supporting succession planning and institutional performance.
