About the role
Take full ownership of shipments after supplier deal confirmation, coordinating bookings and ensuring timely delivery to port.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate bookings with freight forwarders and shipping lines.
- Monitor shipment schedules and provide regular status updates to management.
- Review and manage all shipping documentation (Invoice, Packing List, BL, Certificate of Origin, etc.).
- Prepare and process BI, DI, and all required import documentation.
- Ensure compliance with customs and regulatory requirements, including coordination with banks for LC documentation when applicable.
- Control freight costs and mitigate demurrage/detention risks.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, or related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in freight forwarding or import operations.
- Fluent in English; French is an advantage.
Required skills
- Strong knowledge of international shipping and Incoterms.
- Experience with BI & DI procedures and import documentation.
- Familiarity with African ports and customs (a plus).
